Len Aruliah is a saxophonist based in London, England.  Len and I have been playing together for a little over 20 years now and many of my most important musical experiences have happened when we shared the bandstand.

Len wrote the beautiful "Full Circle" suite for this recording and I responded by writing a suite of my own.  Our friend Rob Kohler, the amazing bass player on this recording, contributed a lovely tune in addition to his amazing playing and drummer, Stan Taylor, invented some terrific grooves to make eveything work.  We got together on July 10 and 11 of 2006 and completed the rehearsals and recordings in two sessions.  Then Rob was off into the night to California and Len headed back to England...

NEW Len Aruliah Sextet recording on soundcloud

Len has been writing some great new tunes orchestrated for a sextet.  Len on soprano and ato saxes, Joe Poole (drums), Colin Maskell (tenor), Lorne Kellett (piano), Brent Gubbels (bass) and Jared Burrows (guitar).  We recorded this material in one afternoon in July and played a few gigs.  Hoping for more work with this great group of people and stellar musicians.
